About Thermography

Thermography Provides Early Detection

Thermography is a totally non-invasive, non-radiation, painless digital infrared thermal imaging procedure for detecting and monitoring a number of diseases and physical injuries by showing the thermal abnormalities in the body.

Simply, it is a non-body contact, FDA registered procedure that uses a highly sensitive camera and computer to take pictures of the heat patterns and blood flow in the body. It creates a digital map of a patient’s unique thermal signature. Over time, it can detect the slightest changes in that digital map, which may indicate the onset of disease if left unattended.

It neither diagnoses nor is it meant to be used as a standalone device. It does not replace any diagnostic procedure. Rather, it is meant to be used in conjunction with other procedures and devices to provide additional data, aiding practitioners in the creation of a well-informed diagnosis and treatment plan.

Breast Thermography

Breast thermography offers the chance for early detection of breast disease. Earlier detection = early intervention by your healthcare practitioner and better treatment options. As another tool in a woman’s annual health screening, it is safe and effective for all women, regardless of age. It is particularly advantageous for younger women, who can be screened very early. For those women with denser breast tissue, larger breasts, implants, and who have undergone mastectomies or breast reductions, it also provides an easy, painless way to receive valuable information about one’s breast health. The first visit begins to establish a baseline. Any apparent changes to that image over time are captured in a follow-up visit, and are then interpreted by medical doctors (thermologists) who are specially trained to read thermograms.
